Terms of Rental

Last Updated: August 5, 2026. Please read these terms carefully before confirming your reservation.

These Terms of Rental govern all vehicle hire agreements between Fixsar Rental Pty Ltd (ABN 21 682 519 295) ("Fixsar", "we", "our", "us") and the customer ("Renter", "you", "your") specified in the reservation invoice. By proceeding with a booking, you accept and agree to comply with all rules and obligations detailed herein.

1. Driver Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Minimum Age: Renters must be at least 21 years of age. Renters aged between 21 and 24 are subject to a Young Driver Surcharge of $25 per day.
  • Licensing: You must present a full, valid, and unrestricted Australian driver's license (or recognized international equivalent) at the time of pick-up. Provisional (P-Plate) licenses are not accepted under any circumstances.
  • License History: Your driver's license must not be suspended, cancelled, or disqualified in any Australian state or territory within the past three (3) years.

2. Rates, Surcharges & Financial Obligations

  • Rental Rates: Charges are calculated on a 24-hour cycle. The base rate includes standard passenger vehicle registration and third-party property damage insurance.
  • GST & Taxes: All rates shown are subject to 10% Goods and Services Tax (GST) in Australia.
  • Tolls & Infringements: Renters are fully liable for all toll road charges, speeding tickets, parking fines, and traffic infringements incurred during the rental period. An administration fee of $35 applies to each processed infringement.
  • Security Bond: A refundable security bond of $500 is pre-authorized on your credit card at pick-up to cover fuel discrepancies, minor damages, or late return adjustments.

3. Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) & Insurance Limits

  • Standard Liability Excess: In the event of vehicle damage or theft, the standard financial excess ranges from $2,500 to $4,500 depending on the vehicle class.
  • Excess Reduction Option: You may purchase optional Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) cover for $19.99/day, which reduces your financial liability excess down to $0 in case of non-negligent accidents.
  • Exclusions: LDW does not cover damages caused by driving on unsealed or off-road surfaces, single-vehicle night driving in rural areas, water submersion, roof damage, or driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol.

4. Vehicle Use & Restrictions

  • Geographical Limits: Vehicles rented from our Sydney office are restricted to travel within the state of New South Wales (NSW) unless written consent is obtained prior to crossing state borders.
  • Prohibited Uses: The rental vehicle must not be used to tow other vehicles, carry hazardous goods, participate in motorsport trials, or carry passengers for commercial hire unless specifically agreed under appropriate taxi/rideshare cover.
  • Smoke-Free Policy: All Fixsar vehicles are strictly non-smoking. A cleaning sanitization fee of $250 applies if smoking is detected.

5. Returns, Fuel & Cancellations

  • Fuel Policy: Vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned full. A refueling surcharge of $4.00 per liter applies if the vehicle is returned partially empty.
  • Late Returns: A grace period of 59 minutes is granted. Returns exceeding this timeframe are charged at the daily rate plus a $50 late return fee.
  • Cancellation: Bookings cancelled more than 48 hours prior to scheduled pick-up receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours incur a one-day rental fee charge.
